Montblanc Meisterstück No. 149 fountain pen, flagship model of the house, produced in Germany. Vintage specimen dating to the 1970s – early 1980s based on three concordant elements: the 14-carat gold nib, later replaced by 18-carat in the early 1990s; the marking "GERMANY" on the cap lip ring, preceding the wording "W.-GERMANY" introduced toward the mid-1980s; and the absence of the serial number on the clip, which also appeared in the early 1990s.
Body and cap in glossy black resin, gold-plated fittings. Central cap ring engraved "MONTBLANC – MEISTERSTÜCK No. 149", emblem of the white star atop. Piston-filler, ink feed in ebonite, striped ink window.
Bicolor nib in 14-carat gold, engraved "4810 – 14C – MONTBLANC – 585", with rhodium-plating and scroll engravings. The nib width is not marked, as is Montblanc practice for this model: refer to close-up photographs.
Measurements: 147.3 mm closed, maximum diameter 16.0 mm.
Comes with: original Montblanc box in cardboard covered with velvet interior, and guarantee cards, instruction sheet for filling and original Montblanc envelope.
Conditions: excellent condition of use. Resin intact, free of cracks, chips or bite marks. Gold finishes without evident wear. No engraving or personalization. Clean and functional, tested only with distilled water — sold as is.
