Gottfried Honegger (born 1917 in Zürich, died 2016 in Zürich) was one of the central figures of Swiss Concrete art. Trained and active as a graphic designer in Zürich, he turned fully to painting in the 1950s and settled in Paris in 1960. His work is based on strict geometric construction; from the late 1960s onwards he introduced systematic and chance-based procedures to determine form and composition, developing his characteristic reliefs and serial works.
Together with Sybil Albers, Honegger founded the Espace de l'Art Concret in Mouans-Sartoux (France), whose collection of Concrete and Constructive art they later donated to the French state. His works are held in public and private collections in Europe and the United States.
