Description from the seller

Antique Japanese Two-Section Chadansu Tea Cabinet in Zelkova with Lattice Window and Many Drawers - Meiji/Taisho

== DESCRIPTION ==
A finely made Japanese tea cabinet (chadansu) in two sections, in figured zelkova (keyaki) with a warm, aged red-brown patina. The upper section has sliding panel doors, a glazed display compartment with a decorative lattice (koshi) window and an ogee shelf, and a built-in drawer; the lower section holds a sliding-door cupboard and a column of five small drawers plus three wide drawers, all with metal swing handles. Interior lined with traditional paper. The two sections separate for transport. A practical and decorative piece with plenty of storage.

Condition: Good antique condition with honest age-related wear consistent with its age and use: surface scratches, small dents, minor fading and patina, and light wear to the finish and hardware. The original character has been left untouched. All photographs show the piece as it is; please study the detail photos carefully, as they form part of the description.

Note: This is a large, heavy piece of furniture. The item ships from Krefeld, Germany; please enquire about the shipping cost to your country before bidding.
