Vintage nickel-plated metal duck-head lighter, a classic 1950s tabletop item; this version features a removable lighter mechanism (often from luxury brands such as Dunhill or Kirby Beard & Co) inserted at the back of the duck’s head. The brass base design, screwed under the base, hides the sculpture’s ballast and integrates the metal notch. This dual configuration allowed the object to be used either laid on a table as a lounge lighter, or flipped over to serve as a heavy bottle opener.
