1983 Suzuki XN85 Turbo motorcycle, frame GP71A-101015, 51,690 km, registered in the Netherlands with Dutch plate MG-60-SB, no CoC, currently not running due to a missing voltage regulator and long storage; located in the Netherlands.
Description from the seller
1983 Suzuki XN85 Turbo – Very original and complete barn find
Description:
A superb opportunity for both collectors and enthusiasts, this very original and complete 1983 Suzuki XN85 Turbo. With a worldwide production run of only 1,153 units, this factory-turbo icon is a rare piece of motor history.
This specific motorcycle has always been stored in dry conditions and is the ideal candidate for a simple re-commissioning or a full restoration (although not really necessary).
Condition & Technical Details:
• Originality: The motorcycle is in an exceptionally original, untouched condition. The factory sheet metal and the correct exhaust system are still present and undamaged. The buddy seat has been lost in the past, but that has been resolved: it now has a (expensive) original, brand-new saddle on the bike.
• The engine block (engine number P701-101510) turns over with the starter, but currently doesn’t run. This is due to a dead battery caused by a missing voltage regulator/rectifier and the consequent long storage (the deceased previous owner had many more (turbo) engines, so he wasn’t in a hurry). The mechanical base is sound, including the turbo. There is no engine damage or other mechanical problems. The engine ran well in the past and will do so again once the electronics are checked and the fuel system cleaned; there is very old, dirty gasoline in the tank.
• Electronics: Note: The digital dashboard is intact and the ECU of the electronic fuel injection (EFI) has been tested and is good. The engine currently doesn’t run only because the voltage regulator/rectifier is missing; and the contamination in the fuel system.
Why this is the perfect project:
Unlike many other XN85 projects where the unobtainable factory ECU is broken, this engine only misses a voltage regulator to complete the electrical system. High-quality, modern plug-and-play replacement regulators are easily available online for about €50 to €150. Once this part is purchased and mounted, the electrical circuit can function again.
Main features:
• Year: 1983
• Mileage: 51,690 km (32,119 miles)
• VIN / Frame number: GP71A-101015
• Papers: Supplied with Dutch registration: MG-60-SB. Date of first registration in the Netherlands: 10 September 1985. Date of first issue in the Netherlands: 27 March 1986.
• Keys: 1 original key included.
This Suzuki XN85 Turbo is a fantastic investment object. As examples in top condition fetch top prices at international auctions, this fair and complete project offers enormous potential for the next owner.
Location: Viewable in Tiel, Netherlands.
International transport is possible on arrangement and at the buyer’s expense.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
