Montblanc fountain pen Homage to Brothers Grimm Writers Edition 2022
Description
Once upon a time… These four simple words evoke images of magical creatures, enchanted forests, and mysterious figures. More than 200 years ago, Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm published their first collection of fairy tales: universal, timeless stories that have fascinated people of all ages across generations.

In addition to this extraordinary achievement, the two scholars were passionate linguists, on a mission to document and preserve historical sources. For the immense breadth and depth of their scholarly work—from German grammar to the culmination of their linguistic research, the German Dictionary—they are regarded as the founding fathers of modern German philology.

Montblanc has created the Writers Edition Homage to Brothers Grimm Limited Edition in honor of Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, whose works have an impact that goes beyond any regional or temporal boundary.

Distinctive elements
Cap: the upper part is framed by the engraving "Göttinger 7", referencing the years in which the brothers worked on the German dictionary.
Clip: platinum-coated, recalling the gnarly roots; seen from the side and turned, it reveals the profiles of both Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm.
Cone: spindle-shaped, with inscriptions "Kinder- und Hausmärchen" and the number 12, referring to the twelfth fairy tale, Rapunzel.
The fountain pen and roller bear the raised year of publication of Kinder- und Hausmärchen: 1812.
Design: the image of Rapunzel letting down her magnificent tresses along the tower inspired the undulating surface of the cap and barrel, as well as the "R" on the cap; the silhouette evokes a wooden walking cane.
Nib: solid gold Au 750 rhodium-plated and hand‑worked, with the engraving of a blazing fire, recalling the custom of fairy tales told beside the hearth.
Metal finishes: rhodium-plated.
Signature: the signatures of the Grimm brothers are immortalized on the cap.
Resin: the fine black resin reflects the enchanting, foreboding atmosphere of fairytale woods.
Cap ring: bears the words that mark the beginning of almost all fairy tales: "Once upon a time…".
