The works of the painting cycle “Donna” are a scenographic and symbolic representation of the woman, seen both through the eyes of an artist and through those of a man.
With these paintings one aims to represent the woman beyond society’s stereotypes: her essence, her humanity, her fragility and, at the same time, her strength.
The choice of color, in its monochromaticity, slightly sepia-toned, intends to convey the sense of mystery, of lived experience and/or memory.
The veil that envelops the woman has a multiple meaning: the part that gently wraps her body is pink, almost merging with her own skin; while the remaining part of it aims to represent, through its tension, the influence of the social stereotype of a woman who is strong, emancipated, beautiful and slender.
The title of the work is intended to help understand it by using adjectives or names linked to its intention to humanize her and to grasp her essence.
