Description from the seller

Long necklace entirely handmade, combining lamp-worked Murano glass beads and beads covered with Venetian seed beads.

The five glass beads, set on an opaque turquoise base, are lamp-worked in Murano and enriched with submerged dichroic glass inserts. The dichroic glass has the property of changing color with light and the angle of observation: reflections shift from green to gold, from copper to blue, in a mosaic-like pattern outlined by thin black edges.

Among these alternate four beads covered with seed beads, hand-stitched one by one around an inner core, in black, turquoise, or both colors. The seed beads, the small glass beads of the Venetian tradition, also compose the necklace’s thread.

Petal-shaped cups with an antiqued finish and aquamarine faceted beads complete each bead, while some turquoise beads punctuate the black strand.

The length allows wearing it long, down to about mid-torso, or doubled around the neck.

Each necklace is unique: the dichroic reflections and the arrangement of seed beads vary from piece to piece, as is typical of artisanal work.

Length: about 88 cm (the length of the piece; it can also be worn doubled).

Thread: black Murano seed beads, aquamarine and turquoise faceted beads.

Metal: steel (lobster clasp and cup-shaped findings).

The necklace comes in a rigid jewelry box. It is accompanied by a certificate of originality, attesting to the artisanal Murano glass workmanship.

Fast shipping, with careful and secure packaging.

Seller's Story

Hi, I'm the founder of Bottega Isola. I was born and raised on Murano, and glass runs in my family: I grew up around the furnaces, surrounded by a craft my family has carried for generations. I've always been drawn to design and to handmade, one-of-a-kind objects, the kind that make memorable gifts for any occasion. Inspired by many cultures and design styles but rooted in my island's tradition, I create and select pieces that carry the history of Murano glass into today's homes and spaces. Nothing here is chosen at random. Most designs go through several trials before they're just right, and each one has to bring something to the space it lives in, whether that's purpose, character or atmosphere. Every piece is handmade on Murano by some of the island's most skilled glass masters, using techniques passed down for centuries. Each one comes with a certificate of authenticity and is carefully hand-packed in professional, glass-safe packaging, so it reaches you safely wherever you are.
