AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

This is a beautiful and interesting photograph by Vittorio Ronconi, one of the most renowned and well-known Italian photographers between the 1940s and the 1970s, founder of the famous Circolo Fotografico Il Naviglio in Milan. He was among the Italian photographers with the most international awards; nominated by FIAP as "AFIAP" (Artiste FIAP) in 1956 and EFIAP (Excellence FIAP), the highest grade, in 1967; he received numerous other international honors in France, Austria and Germany. He exhibited in numerous solo shows in Italy and abroad (Athens, Buenos Aires, Lisbon, Moscow, Saigon, …). His images have been published in Italian and foreign books and magazines: Ferrania, Le Figaro, Photo Magazin, Popular Photography, Stern, U.S. Camera. His photographs have been acquired by the MoMA in New York and by the Photography Museums of Singapore and Sydney. In 1998 FIAF names him Master of Italian Photography.

This photograph, titled "The Maize" (corn) participated in an important international competition, I believe in the Côte d'Azur, and is dated, in pencil, 1962.

The format of the photograph is 29.5x24 cm, it is printed on baryta paper, and it is in good condition, with slight creases on the upper left corner and at the upper right, overall beautiful and sound.

Mounted on a black, vintage passe-partout, with which it was presented at SICOF in 1985 in the Italian Photography section.
