Description from the seller
This is an interesting vintage photograph taken by a photographer from the famous French agency Intercontinentale, and it features the actress Grace Kelly, in January 1956 during the filming of the movie "Le Cygne"; I should emphasise that in three months the actress would become Princess of Monaco upon marrying Ranieri III.
L’Agence Intercontinentale was a historic French photo-news agency, active from 1948 to December 31, 1958.
Born as a subsidiary of Agence France-Presse (AFP), it was created to continue managing photojournalistic coverage at a time when the AFP management considered the production costs of images too high for its main budget. The agency played a key role in the visual documentation of 1950s history, before definitively ceasing its activities at the end of 1958, when the AFP fully reintegrated the photographic service under its own direct brand.
The photograph measures 18x13 cm, and depicts the actress playing a gigantic harp, a very particular photograph, which I believe may interest cinema image collectors and connoisseurs and enthusiasts of the affairs of the small European kingdom.
This is a true vintage photograph, properly dated and stamped by the Intercontinentale agency on the back, and the shot is attributed to Howell Conant, as written by hand on the back.
Excellent overall condition, a beautiful and rare photo in more than good condition.
