E. García - Gato amarillo XL (No reserve)

“Yellow Cat” is a 100×70 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García.

The work features a deeply sleeping yellow cat on a wooden chair, becoming the protagonist of a domestic scene full of color and calm. Its curved, relaxed body contrasts with the geometric structure of the chair, creating a balanced composition with great visual impact.
The palette builds from intense reds, blues, and yellows, accompanied by floral motifs that run through the background, adding rhythm and dynamism. The black outlines, flat shapes, and chromatic freedom recall Fauvism and the decorative character of some of Matisse’s interiors, reinterpreted from a contemporary sensibility.
“Yellow Cat” transforms an ordinary moment of rest into an image that is cheerful and expressive. The serenity of the animal coexists with the energy of the colors and flowers, resulting in a warm, decorative work full of personality.
