Aurora Hastil solid gold fountain pen with a 14k nib and an 18k/750 clip, made in Italy, measuring 13.6 cm in length and 0.8 cm in diameter, serial number KED220, in good condition.
Description from the seller
SPECIFIC INDICATIONS ABOUT THE PEN - Hastil model by Aurora. Spunzone on the clip: 750 (18kt gold). On the nib: 14kt (gold). Serial number indicated on the black plastic part under the nib: KED220.
There are initials on the cap: W.L. which I don’t know who they might refer to (the pen was given to me as an inheritance from my uncle).
GENERICITY ABOUT USE AND PROVENANCE - Never used by me; the pen shows some slightly more opaque spots on the grip. It is used by filling from a cartridge: I left it outside the pen as I found it, a sign that I don’t know how much it has actually been used; the nib is clean. Outer box slightly damaged.
SHIPPING - Careful and secure shipping via trackable courier. The item will be carefully packaged to ensure protection during transit. The tracking code will be provided to the buyer.
INDICATIONS ON WARRANTY/INSTRUCTIONS (SUMMARY) - 1) “Hidden” clip: In selenium steel, ultrasonically treated and tested mechanically with 10,000 movements.
2) Reservoir and cap of “ecosteel” diamondized: Ecosteel is a modern alloy subjected to chromolight treatment.
3) Fittings: They hold the cap firmly onto the pen body when in use.
4) Nib: Solid white gold 14 kt., hand-calibrated, with an osmium-iridium tip (new alloy).
5) Cartridge loading: King Size cartridge. Sealed, high-capacity, sold in a pack of 5 cartridges.
6) Use of the cartridge: Unscrew the reservoir, insert the cartridge and screw back tightly; cartridge perforation occurs automatically. With a new nib, ink flow to the nib may not be immediate; to speed up, lightly compress the cartridge so the nib exits, wiping excess ink with absorbent paper. (Use a cloth or absorbent paper, keeping the pen oriented upward).
7) Writing group: Junction + trik-trak. Manual device to load the pen from the ink bottle if replacement cartridges are not available. Using the trik-trak: Unscrew the reservoir; insert the trik-trak into the writing group and screw back tightly. By immersing the trik-trak, it correctly engages the junction; avoid pulling or pushing it too hard. With the right-hand writing group, immerse only the nib in the ink up to the shoulders; the index of the left hand should press the pump pedal. Then release the pedal and wait about 10 seconds for the nib to fill with ink. Remove the writing group from the reservoir and reassemble. Loading with the Trik-Trak (from the ink bottle).
8) Cleaning: Hastil, like all fountain pens, needs to be cleaned, preferably internally, with warm water about every 15 days. Detach the cartridge or trik-trak from the junction; pour a little warm water onto the perforated junction while the pen is vertically positioned to facilitate cleaning; shake the junction to remove excess water; dry with a clean cloth the junction and reattach the cartridge or trik-trak; reassemble the pen.
9) Ideograph: An ink-feeding device with a particularly advanced conception, consisting of a body and capillaries. It is not more difficult than a lung: a main lung and a secondary lung. The ideograph ensures a constant and regular ink flow and resists changes after long periods of pen inactivity.
