Description from the seller

Joan Miró — Composition with Hands, 1968
Original lithograph by Joan Miró · Artist's proof
A rare work from the artist's book Les Essències de la Terra (1968), an edition conceived with original lithographs made especially for the volume and not distributed loose in origin. This circumstance makes the individual copies of the book—and especially the Artist's Proofs—highly coveted by collectors.
Composition aux Mains is signed in pencil by Joan Miró and bears the handwritten note “E´preuve de artiste,” which certifies its status as an artist's proof, separate from the standard commercial numbering and belonging to a specially reduced edition. The copy belongs to the exclusive print on high-quality editorial Guarro paper.
The work was created and published by La Polígrafa, Barcelona, one of the most relevant studios closely linked to the graphic production of Joan Miró.
Technical data
Year: 1968
Technique: Original lithograph
Condition: E´preuve de artiste, signed
Paper: Guarro
Dimensions of the framed work: 68 × 58 cm
Catalog reference: Cramer no. 123
State: Very good
This piece clearly embodies Miró's mature poetic and gestural visual language of this period: material, sign, and color organized in a space with almost sculptural presence.
Exceptionally hard to find outside the original book.
A work with great chromatic strength, suitable to bring vitality to any space—including children’s environments—or as an artistic gift with a clear and singular identity.
Option to ship framed or unframed.
