Landschap is an oil painting from the Netherlands, created in 1960–1970 by Hubertus Frissen, titled Landschap, signed and sold with a frame.
Description from the seller
This atmospheric landscape painting by Hubertus Frissen shows a wide panorama where nature, light and atmosphere come together in harmony. A sandy path in the foreground guides the eye past dark shrubs and green fields toward a soft blue horizon. The impressive cloudscape, painted in subtle shades of blue, gray, and ocher, occupies a prominent place within the composition. With loose, bold brushstrokes and a rich texture of paint, Frissen captures the interplay of light and shadow in a striking way. The warm earthy color palette contrasts beautifully with the cool sky, giving the painting a tranquil, almost dreamlike quality.
Dimensions: 40 x 50 cm
Framed dimensions: 58 x 68 cm

Hubertus Josephus Frissen, better known as Jos Frissen, was a Dutch painter, born in Houthem in South Limburg. He largely trained himself as an autodidact and gained fame for his impressionistic landscapes of Limburg and the Belgian Ardennes. His paintings are characterized by lively brushwork, rich color use, and a particular attention to light and atmosphere. Especially the picturesque Geul Valley provided an important source of inspiration, which earned him the nickname ‘the painter of the Geul Valley’. In 1950 he founded the Valkenburg Art Circle Henri Jonas. His oeuvre forms a moody tribute to the South Limburg landscape.
