Joseph Beuys – 2 Works: invitation card of the Galleria Lucrezia Pescara from 1974, hand-signed on parchment with Beuys’s lead signature, and a second non-signed panel from the performance Hauptstrom 1967, Gazefilter I–IV, both framed; limited edition offset print in contemporary pop culture theme, excellent condition, 38 × 23 cm, Italy, weight 1 kg, supplied with frame.
Description from the seller
ARTIST: Joseph Beuys
WORK 1: Invitation card of Galleria Lucrezia - Pescara from the year 1974 - HAND-SIGNED - here on parchment paper - Beuys’ signature in pencil. Lucrezia de Domizio Durini was a close associate and collector of Beuys, occasionally also described as a patroness of Beuys, who here in Italy from the early 1970s curated exhibitions of Beuys, thereby supporting his international breakthrough as an artist.
Very good condition - minimal crease (not visible when framed), dynamic signature by Beuys. In my view rare - this card is not listed in the known catalogues raisonnés. I also am not aware of any other parchment invitation card.
WORK II: Motif from the performance “Main Current 1967” “Gazefilter I-IV”, motif Ute Klophaus, not signed - mounted in the are in the mat. Shows Beuys in the so-called “frog pose.”
Delivery as shown - two works, both pieces are framed identically. Black shadow-gap frame in approximately 38 cm x 23 cm
