Materials: Polished black resin; clip and cap band gold-filled; open nib in silver color, without carat marks, stamped “SHEAFFER'S · U.S. PAT. OFF. · MADE IN U.S.A.”; ebonite feed; barrel engraved “MADE IN U.S.A.”. Snorkel pneumatic filling system, with a retractable tube that exits below the nib.
Condition: Good condition. The resin retains a bright shine and there are no cracks, bites, or deformations; the profile is intact. In the gold-plated hardware there are micro-scratches from use, especially on the cap band and the spine of the clip, with the plating intact and no metal wear. The nib is clean, with the tines aligned and the tip undistorted. Since this is a piece from the 1950s, the filling mechanism has not been operated: the sac and internal o-rings are consumables of the era and require servicing by a professional; it is sold as-is.
