Description from the seller
Introducing the Marlen Vanità Collection
Vanità is a collection of pens that combines elegance and tradition, enriched by a lucky horn pendant, an iconic symbol of Neapolitan culture. This collection is not just a writing instrument, but a celebration of luck and positivity, perfect for those who want to bring a bit of magic into their daily life, whichever path they take, the adventure they begin, the choice they make.
The collection is made in fine Italian resin and is distinguished by the pen's cylindrical clip, from which a red coral bead can be unscrewed, revealing the horn hidden inside, turning a simple accessory into a personal amulet. According to legend, the Neapolitan horn represents Priapus’ phallus, the God of Prosperity, whom the Greeks believed protected against misfortune.
The horn symbol has been considered auspicious since the Neolithic era for its phallic shape, which makes it an emblem of fertility, virility, and physical strength. Not all horns, however, are lucky charms. To truly work and fulfill its function as an amulet, the horn must have specific characteristics. It must be stout, curved, and with a tip—that is, rigid, bent, and pointed. It must also be made of coral, hence the vivid, bright red color. Coral is used because it represents a very precious stone, whose power is to keep misfortune away. The Neapolitan horn, when given as a gift, amplifies its protective functions.
Vanità is the new way to give the symbol of luck par excellence, a small secret between the giver and the receiver.
