Andrea Lehmann’s hand-signed original oil painting *No one* (2007) depicts a seated woman in a realist style and measures 60 × 50 cm.
Description from the seller
This mysterious and intriguing painting shows a seated female figure with long, silvery-white hair that completely obscures her face from view. Dressed in a dark, greenish dress with light sleeves, she sits reclining in a chair, her relaxed posture and gracefully placed hands forming a striking contrast with her enigmatic appearance. The artist combines a refined, realistic depiction of the hands and the shiny locks with a loose, expressive painting technique in the clothing and the background. The powerful contrast between the light hair, the deep shadows, and the subtle light on the left side gives the composition a dramatic and almost surreal aura. Because the face remains hidden, a sense of anonymity, vulnerability, and estrangement arises. The artwork balances in a fascinating way between beauty and discomfort, reality and fantasy, inviting the viewer to reflect on identity, hidden emotions, and the mysterious world behind visible reality.

Andrea Lehmann was born in 1975 in Düsseldorf and is part of the notable contemporary artists within German figurative painting. From 1995 to 2002 she studied at the prestigious Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, where she became a master pupil of the renowned artist Markus Lüpertz in 2000. Her work is characterized by a distinctive combination of realism, neoromanticism, surrealism, and influences from the Japanese manga culture. In particular her mysterious female portraits and imaginative scenes, in which beauty and estrangement are continually interwoven, have brought her international recognition. Lehmann draws inspiration from fairy tales, mythology, dreams, and the painting of old masters. Her figures often inhabit a puzzling world where the boundary between reality and fantasy blurs. Through her refined painting technique, idiosyncratic use of color, and psychologically charged visual language, she creates works that can be both alluring and somewhat unsettling. Her work has been exhibited in leading international art institutions and galleries, including the Saatchi Gallery in London and the Rubell Family Collection in Miami. Lehmann lives and works in Düsseldorf and has secured a recognizable place within contemporary European painting with her personal, fantastical imagery.
