Tyrannosaurus Rex – A Beard Of Stars (US) – 1971 Blue Thumb pressing, stereo, with the original gatefold sleeve, released in the United States in 1971; sleeve VG+ and vinyl VG+.
Description from the seller
A very nice 1971 US pressing of Tyrannosaurus Rex's A Beard Of Stars on Blue Thumb Records (BTS-8818). This release represents a fascinating transitional moment in Marc Bolan's artistic journey. Released while the group was still operating under the Tyrannosaurus Rex name, the album already gestures toward the more electric sound that would soon crystallise into T. Rex. The record is housed in an original gatefold sleeve and pressed in stereo, capturing tracks such as "A Day Laye," "Woodland Bop," "By The Light Of A Magical Moon," "A Beard Of Stars," and "Elemental Child." This US reissue documents an important chapter in early 1970s rock, bridging the acoustic folk-rock origins with the glam-rock future to come.
⸻
Sleeve (VG+):
The original gatefold sleeve remains solid and attractive, showing the characteristic signs of age and use typical of surviving US copies from this era. Some ringwear is present, and there is a small deletion punch hole visible on the back cover. Despite these marks, the spine remains fully readable and the overall presentation is clean and nicely preserved, grading VG+ overall.
Vinyl (VG+):
The vinyl retains a good original shine and remains in nice overall condition. Light signs of previous play are visible throughout, but nothing detracts from a strong and presentable listening experience. The record grades VG+ overall.
