Roy Orbison – At The Rock House, a 1961 US Sun Records LP 1260 first pressing in mono, signed by Roy Orbison, with VG+ sleeve and VG+ vinyl.
Description from the seller
A genuinely special original 1961 US pressing of Roy Orbison's At The Rock House, issued on the legendary Sun Records label under catalogue number LP 1260 — and, most importantly, signed by Roy Orbison on the front cover.
This album documents Orbison's earliest rockabilly period, before the huge international success of his later Monument years. The recordings come from his time at Sun, where he worked alongside producer Sam Phillips and developed the rawer, rhythm-driven side of his sound that is very different from the dramatic ballads for which he later became world famous. The album includes key early material such as "Ooby Dooby," "Rock House," "Devil Doll," "You're My Baby," "Tryin' To Get To You," "Mean Little Mama," "Problem Child," "Sweet And Easy To Love" and "It's Too Late."
The defining feature of this copy is the Roy Orbison autograph on the front cover. According to the previous owner, the album was personally signed by Orbison, and the sleeve also carries a provenance sticker referring to that history. The signature has received a Beckett Authentication Services Signature Review with the conclusion "Likely to Pass Full Authentication." This is an encouraging preliminary photo-based assessment; however, it is important to be precise that the item has not yet undergone full physical authentication, and no final BAS certificate or Letter of Authenticity is currently included.
⸻
Sleeve (VG+):
The original Sun sleeve remains a solid VG+ example, structurally strong and very presentable overall. There are normal signs of age, storage and handling, but no major structural problems. The front cover still displays well, and the Roy Orbison signature remains clear and prominent.
Vinyl (VG+):
The vinyl is conservatively graded VG+, showing visible signs of previous play and normal surface wear. The record plays very strongly for the visual grade and performs better than many early Sun LPs encountered in similar condition, delivering an overall very enjoyable and strong-playing original copy.
