Original mixed-media on board titled Aproximació al mar I by Josep Guinovart (2004), a marine landscape in multicolor with blue, red, black and white tones, 74 x 69 cm, in excellent condition and sold with frame.
Description from the seller
Original work by Catalan master Josep Guinovart, entitled “Aproximació al mar I” (Approach to the Sea I), created in 2004 in mixed media on panel and signed by the artist.
Piece belonging to his mature period, where matter, gesture and the symbolic construction of the landscape merge in a composition with a strong poetic charge. Guinovart here explores the relationship between figure, territory and memory, using material overlays, graffiti-like marks and chromatic fields that evoke the Mediterranean landscape from an abstract and deeply personal perspective.
The work presents a powerful physical presence, with visible textures and layers of pigment that reinforce its sculptural character.
Acquired in a gallery with identification on the reverse.
