Jan Te Wierik, born in 1954 in Hengelo, in the province of Overijssel, was a versatile artist. Although self-taught, he excelled as both sculptor and painter. Due to his health, he later mainly focused on painting. In the final years of his life he lived and worked in Rekken, Gelderland. His artistic works were exhibited in the Netherlands and internationally, including Germany and the United States.
