Gilbert Decock (Knokke, Belgium 1928 – 2007) was an important representative of Belgian abstract art. His work falls under the category of 'geometric abstract painting'.

Decock's work is very minimalist. In terms of color, he used only white, black, and gray tones. In terms of shapes, he limited himself to the circle and the square. The circle symbolizes infinity and the divine, while the square symbolizes the bounded and the earthly.
