Rosa Brun is a renowned Spanish artist whose production moves between conceptualism, minimalism, and American color fields. Between painting and sculpture, Brun’s work is fundamentally based on dialogue with some American minimalist artists, such as Josef Albers, Ad Reinhardt or Barnett Newman, while also maintaining a relationship with Rothko and his lyrical simplicity, chromaticism, and strict compositions. Brun tends to eliminate the representational, seeking conceptual simplicity. In recent years, a great explosion of colors has marked her palette, which previously was limited to the hues inherent in the materials she uses.
Rosa Brun has works in the following museums, public and private collections, among others:
Museo Reina Sofía, Madrid
Helga de Alvear Contemporary Art Museum, Cáceres
Patio Herreriano Museum of Contemporary Art, Valladolid
Artium Museum of Contemporary Art, Vitoria
CA2M, Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo, Community of Madrid
CAC of Málaga
CAAC, Andalusian Centre for Contemporary Art, Seville
La Caixa Foundation, Barcelona
