Description from the seller
Vintage Har-Bro cigarette case with engraved map of the British Isles – 1950s
Elegant vintage pocket cigarette case made in England by Har-Bro, around the 1950s. This mid-20th-century accessory is distinguished by its finely engraved cartographic decor representing the British Isles, with the names of several major cities, including London, Manchester, Liverpool, Dublin, Belfast, Edinburgh and Plymouth.
The map is highlighted by a silver-toned guilloché background, presenting a raised geometric motif reminiscent of a honeycomb. The overall look offers a refined contrast between the cartographic engraving and the texture of the metal.
The interior features a contrasting gold finish and retains its original holding system with an extendable metal arm with a spring, designed to hold cigarettes in place.
With its flat format and elegant finishes, this case is an interesting piece for collectors of vintage accessories, tobacco memorabilia, and British advertising or manufactured items from the mid-20th century. It can also be repurposed as a pocket case for business cards or bank cards.
