AI-assisted summary
Description from the seller
Original oil painting.
There are canvases that decorate and canvases that captivate. This piece wasn’t born to be an invisible backdrop over a sofa. It was born to dominate the room and remind anyone who looks at it, every day, of a fundamental truth: "The storm can shake you, but it cannot extinguish you."
Borrowing the title from Eugenio Montale’s masterpiece, I wanted to work the material of this white wave in oil to make it solid, alive, almost chalky and rough in its breaking, just like the squid bones softened by salt and cast back to the sea. At the center of this clash, however, there is not surrender but resolve: an immobile lighthouse and a blade of gold that cuts the sky on the horizon. It is the Montalian "opening," the search for light that rips through the chaos of life.
Bringing this work into your home doesn’t just mean buying a painting. It means making a bold character choice and embracing a visually disorienting and deeply moving energy.
The tactile impact and the imposing wooden frame (3/4 cm thick) make the canvas a unique and truly standout piece, ready to hang and to live with.
