Don Quixote and Dulcinea: Positioned in the lower-center, the elongated, emaciated figure of Don Quixote kneels, extending his arms toward a bowing female figure (Dulcinea). Their proportions are graceful yet distorted, reflecting Dalí's signature figurative style.

The Steed and Shield: To the left, beneath a twisted tree trunk, sits the slumped form of his steed, Rocinante. A circular shield and a lance rest against the tree.

Surrealist Symbolism & Setting

Insects and Butterflies: The background sky is filled with relief carvings of butterflies and dragonflies—recurrent Dalí motifs that represent metamorphosis, dreams, and the fragility of thought.

Geometric Perspective Lines: Fine incisions and geometric lines intersect among the floating insects, establishing an open, dreamlike perspective typical of Dalí’s printmaking and metalwork.

Format & Finish

The medal features a rectangular format with smoothly rounded corners.

It presents a matte gold finish with deep relief, emphasizing the malleable textures and fluid lines of the metal.
