The drawing portrays Donald Duck in the role of Daredevil, on the skyscraper and ready for action
Technique: pencils and colored markers
Lorenzo Pastrovicchio, born in 1971, joined the Disney world in 1993 by attending the Disney Academy, run by Roberto Santillo and conceived and supervised by Giovan Battista Carpi.
An iconic artist, very inclined toward science fiction and the adventure genre, he does not renounce his love for the classic Disney. In fact, beyond having worked from the outset on the PKNA project (“Trauma”) and on its relaunch in 2014 (“Power and Might”), he continually collaborates on the weekly Topolino and, in tandem with Francesco Artibani, created a cycle of stories for Mickey Mouse’s 90th anniversary, where the adventures of the young Mouse come alive again together with his companions Donald Duck and Goofy.
With Casty, he created Darkenblot, a futuristic version of Macchianera, the darkest Disney villain of all time. Together they would sign almost 500 panels over three seasons. In the 1990s and 2000s he produced covers for several Disney titles (“Young Marmots,” “Great Classics,” “Great Parodies,” “Paperinik,” “PKNA” and many others). He collaborates with different Disney divisions in advertising and merchandising.
Together with the editorial division he works as a cover artist on the series “Disney Mistery,” for which, in 2003, he won the prestigious “Topolino d’oro” award.
In 2020 he received the “Giacomo Pueroni” prize as the best science-fiction artist. Pastrovicchio also takes the helm of the famous fantasy series “Wizards of Mickey,” created by Stefano Ambrosio, drawing the first and many other stories, becoming its most prolific artist. For Disney Global he is the graphic designer and illustrator of another fantasy/medieval saga, “Diary of a Wacky Knight,” a Paperinik in a knightly version with numerous international translations.
Recently, to celebrate Disney’s 100th anniversary, he worked with Marvel on event covers featuring Disney characters in the outfits of famous superheroes from the Ideas universe. With Marvel he also produced the Donald Duck/Thor version and, upcoming, the Fantastic Four (again with the Disney group).
His works are constantly reprinted in prestige editions.
