Description from the seller

Print by Utagawa Yoshimori (1830-1884), (Surname and given name: Taguchi (originally Miki) 三木 Sakuzō 田口作蔵; go: Ikkōsai 一光斎, Kōsai 光斎, Kuniharu 国晴, Sakurabō さくら坊, Yoshimori 芳盛),
a so-called Yokohama-e (横浜絵, "Yokohama images") part of a series of a multi-panel (diptych?) with a view of a scene in Yokohama, a harbor that was opened to foreigners in 1859,

Yokohama-e are traditional Japanese woodblock prints from the late 19th century that depicted the arrival of Westerners and modern technology to the port city of Yokohama. These colorful 'Yokohama prints' served as visual news sources and offered the local population a fascinating glimpse into foreign customs, fashion and inventions

Published by: Otaya Takichi who was also the block cutter (Hori Takichi).

Published in 1861

Condition: good, in keeping with age.

The print is carefully packaged and shipped promptly, insured.
