Description from the seller
Original work by Ugo Nespolo created on handmade or cotton paper with fringed edges, housed in an elegant dark mat inside a silver frame. The signature "Nespolo" is clearly visible in the top left. Italy, 20th century, probably the 1940s–1950s. Excellent condition. Dimensions of the work: 43 x 31 cm. Dimensions with frame: 76.5 x 63.5 cm. It presents the most distinctive elements of Nespolo's stylistic signature, characterized by pronounced fragmentation of forms with cubist and futurist roots, flat color fields, and clearly defined black geometric outlines. The right-hand side of the work shows an organic element (green leaves wrapped around a stem) that contrasts and dialogues with the red, purple, and gray geometric and abstract shapes occupying the central and left portions of the scene.
