Description from the seller

Series "An after noon at Majorelle"

- Title At Majorelle B&W
- Fine Art print 50x50 numbered signed 1/15 in an Unframed format
- Certificate of Authenticity

This black-and-white photograph was taken in the heart of the famous Jardin Majorelle in Marrakech, one of the most emblematic gardens in Morocco.

The vertical composition of the palms creates a strong graphical dynamic, amplified by the upward perspective that naturally leads the eye toward the sky. The sun, captured through the foliage, forms a luminous star that contrasts with the deep silhouettes of the trees, giving the image a mood that is both meditative and intense.

The choice of black and white reinforces the timeless dimension of the scene and highlights the textures, lines, and play of light between the fronds and the sky. This photograph evokes the encounter between nature, vegetal architecture, and Moroccan light.

Created in a place conceived by the painter Jacques Majorelle and later restored by the fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent, the image is part of an artistic tradition where garden, color, and light are inseparable from Marrakech’s identity.

Passionate about photography from a young age, Ben DAUCHEZ began in the neighborhood studios of La Rochelle. There he acquired the full set of fundamentals of photography—from classic technique to shooting and retouching, through the laboratory. At 22, freshly graduated, he moved to Paris to perfect his training by becoming an on-set assistant for the Daguerre studios, Le Petit Oiseau va sortir, and Studio Zéro. He had the chance to collaborate with and assist some of the most talented photographers: Bettina RHEIMS, Patrick DEMARCHELIER, Terry RICHARDSON, Ellen VON UNWERTH, Marcus MAM... From certain decisive meetings, beautiful projects and long collaborations arose, notably with André RAU, Bettina RHEIMS (the sultry INRI exhibition and its eponymous book at Editions Albin Michel) and Peter BEARD (the 2009 Pirelli calendar in Botswana).

His photos have been published, among others, by Condé Nast Editions (French and international), Première, WallPaper, ID, Madame Figaro, Lifestyles, Dandy Magazine... His world also interests brands with very different identity codes, for whom he has led Institutional and/or advertising campaigns such as Dior (beauty), L'Oréal, Peugeot, Philip Morris, or Burger King (awarded at Dubai Lynx).

Ben DAUCHEZ has also produced numerous portraits of celebrities (IGGY POP, Woody ALLEN, Grace JONES, Jean DUJARDIN, Gilles LELLOUCHE, Olivier MARCHAL, Carole BOUQUET, Charlotte GAINSBOURG, ...) of beauty, worldly men (Olivier DASSAULT, Jacques SEGUELA...) and travelers...
This photographic path has since allowed him to freely capture the human beauty, aesthetics, and spiritual essence of each personality.
