Dial and Hands
The beautifully patinated classic wave dial is in excellent condition. The distinctive blue wave pattern serves as a striking backdrop for the luminous indices, which have developed an attractive and even creamy yellow patina. All printed text remains crisp and intact, and the date window at three o'clock is clean. The skeleton-style hour and minute hands are excellently preserved, with their luminous material perfectly matching the creamy patina of the dial indices. The vibrant red tip on the seconds hand is fully intact, and there is no significant oxidation or corrosion visible on the handset.
Case and Crystal
The stainless steel case displays honest wear with preserved geometry, featuring a combination of brushed and polished finishes. A helium escape valve is present at the ten o'clock position, and the serial number is clearly engraved on the lug at seven o'clock. The case shows moderate surface scratches and scuffs consistent with normal wear. The scalloped steel bezel ring shows light wear on the edges, while the blue aluminum insert exhibits light fading and minor surface marks. The luminous pip at twelve o'clock is intact and matches the dial patina. The screw-down crown is signed with the Omega logo and features well-defined knurling with light wear. The domed sapphire crystal appears clear with no significant scratches or chips visible.
Movement
Powering this Seamaster is the Omega caliber 1538 quartz movement, marked with six jewels. The quartz module appears clean and well-maintained, with a battery present and no visible signs of battery leakage or moisture damage.
Strap
The watch is fitted with its original signed bracelet, featuring the classic multi-link Seamaster Professional design in stainless steel. The endlinks are stamped 824, and the deployant clasp is signed OMEGA Seamaster PROFESSIONAL. The bracelet shows moderate desk-diving scratches and scuffs throughout, representing normal signs of use, and will accommodate a maximum wrist size of 17.5cm.
Condition
Good vintage condition. The stainless steel case and original bracelet present honest wear, with moderate surface scratches and scuffs expected from regular use. The blue aluminum bezel insert shows light fading and minor marks, while the scalloped edges display light wear. The dial and hands remain in excellent condition, highlighted by a highly attractive and matching creamy yellow patina across the luminous elements.
Dimensions
The case measures 37mm in diameter, excluding the crown.
Remarks
This midsize Seamaster Professional is a highly appealing configuration of a celebrated design. The beautifully aged creamy patina against the blue wave dial provides exceptional character, making it a compelling choice for enthusiasts of 1990s Omega sports watches.
