Description from the seller
The G&L USA ASAT Korina Bass is a limited edition, high-quality bass that combines the warm depth of Korina wood with versatile MFD humbuckers and a Tri-Tone active/passive preamp system, offering punchy funk, rock, and versatile tones.
Body and Tone Woods
The ASAT Korina Bass body is made from Korina wood, which bridges the tonal gap between the deep warmth of Mahogany and the midrange focus of Alder
This choice provides a natural, resonant sound ideal for both punchy funk lines and heavy rock riffs.
Korina is known for enhancing clarity and sustain, making it a favored material for custom and limited edition instruments.
Electronics and Controls
The bass features two G&L Magnetic Field Design (MFD) humbuckers, which are celebrated for their dynamic and responsive tonal range
It is equipped with a Tritone control system, including three mini toggle switches allowing you to select
pickup combinations, series/parallel signal routing, and switch between active and passive operation. This system is complemented by three knobs controlling volume, treble, and bass, providing extensive tonal shaping options
Neck and Playability
The ASAT Bass has a comfortable C-shaped neck with a 9 1/2″ radius and 21 Jescar
medium-jumbo nickel-silver frets, which ensures smooth playability across styles
The nut width is 1 1/2″, balancing the instrument for ergonomic play.
Bridge and Construction Features
The bass includes a Leo Fender-designed Saddle-Lock bridge, which increases
string energy transfer to the body, resulting in enhanced resonance and sustain
Each instrument is carefully crafted in G&L’s Fullerton, California facility,
maintaining high standards of American craftsmanship
Versatility and Musical Style
This bass is particularly versatile across genres, from classic R&B to rock and funk. Its combination of
Korina wood, humbuckers, and the TriTone system allows the player to dial in a wide array of tones,
making it suitable for studio or live performance
Limited edition Korina models are sought after by collectors and players looking for both aesthetic
beauty and tonal depth
In summary, the G&L USA ASAT Korina Bass stands out for its unique wood selection, powerful electronics system, and versatile tone options, making it a premium choice for bassists seeking both performance and high collectible value
