Description from the seller
Artwork n.648
Dimensions: 85,00 x 85,00 (cm)
I create paintings using acrylic colors and thousands of small pieces of recycled paper: everyday paper is transformed into art instead of ending up in the trash. In my latest works I have focused on the theme of women treated as objects (dolls) and too often victims of violence, and these are the latest pieces I have created.
"Not your doll" - "I am not your doll" is a series where I intend to portray the faces of women with features that recall the most classic dolls and the message is: "even if I look like a real doll, I am not a doll, your doll, and you can do with me what you want" with all that lies behind, up to, unfortunately, violence.

Born in 1974 I am self-taught.
After an initial period devoted to sculpture there was a prolonged pause lasting almost twenty years. Since December 2014 I have returned to the "two dimensions" for reasons of time and space, abandoning sculpture and dedicating myself to acrylic paintings.
I love painting abstract landscapes, but recently I have been pushing myself to paint faces of people both imaginary and real.
For me, painting is "stopping time" at that exact moment; my painting is often a faded memory, so my works are "worn, eroded by time". Sometimes the subjects of my paintings are glimpses of walls also eroded by time, with moss and mushrooms that—over time—grow on the surface.
The inexorable passing of time is the main theme of my works.
Coming from a wonderful experience with clay manipulation, I love sculpture, the third dimension, the sense of touch, and my paintings are often characterized by reliefs clearly perceivable by touch and to the naked eye.
Recently, after several years in which my works were made from pieces of recycled paper forming figures, I am pushing to explore Optical Art where I use painted wooden discs arranged in lines and grids with mathematical rigor that, when viewed up close, seem to form a colorful abstract painting, but the more you step back, the more a portrait emerges from the 768 painted wooden discs.
Violence against women is a theme that characterizes almost all my works when I reproduce female faces, precisely to give them a voice when they do not have the strength or courage to report that they are not their partner’s dolls and they cannot be mistreated or, worse, become victims of violence.
