AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Color cardstock cut into modules and glued onto prepared wooden board, with a frame on the back to create a wall-suspension effect.

Diameter: 100 cm

With Electric Field n.4, Marco Ercoli continues his exploration of chromatic vibrations through a circular composition built for layering, rhythms, and visual tensions.

The circular composition, one meter in diameter, is constructed through a dense succession of colored cardstock modules, cut out and manually applied to the wooden surface. Their arrangement creates a vibrant weave that seems to expand, contract, and rotate around the center. The image is therefore not still: it changes continuously depending on distance, viewing angle, and incidence of light.

Patches of blue, turquoise, green, red, yellow and more neutral tones meet and cross, producing true chromatic vibrations. Color is not used to describe a recognizable form, but becomes a structure, energy, and movement in itself. Hence the title Electric Field: the surface seems to behave like a field traversed by invisible forces, in which every chromatic variation influences the next.

The special working of the cardstock also introduces a strong tactile component. The repetition of the small elements produces an almost kinetic surface, suspended between painting, collage, and relief, capable of perceptually changing as the observer moves in front of the work.

With this series, Ercoli’s research progressively sheds narration and figure to focus on the fundamental elements of visual language: color, rhythm, repetition, light, and space. Essentiality, however, does not coincide with a reduction of experience, but with the attempt to establish a more immediate relationship with the viewer.

Electric Field n.4 thus does not offer an image to be interpreted univocally, but a perceptual experience: a chromatic field in which the gaze is invited to lose itself, following trajectories, contrasts, and pulsations that seem to continue beyond the very boundaries of the work.

The work is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
