Lot Title: Hugo Schmölz – Modernist Architectural Photography (Griffelkunst Edition)
Description:
A splendid gelatin silver photographic print by the pioneer of interwar German architectural photography, Hugo Schmölz (1879–1938). This piece brilliantly embodies the core principles of the New Objectivity (Neue Sachlichkeit) movement and the rise of functionalism in 1930s Germany.
The image stands out for its flawless formal precision, clean geometric composition, and perfectly balanced interior lighting that highlights the rich textures of modern materials (marble, polished steel, and structured glass). This is an official posthumous limited edition published and distributed in 1991 under the prestigious seal of the Griffelkunst-Vereinigung of Hamburg, ensuring an absolute standard of fine-art printmaking quality and provenance.
