A superb vintage table-top box (circa 1960) in solid lead crystal of exceptional quality.

With its clean geometric lines, beveled lid and chamfered corners, this piece sits perfectly in the Modernist/Brutalist design trend of the mid-20th century. Its shape and craftsmanship are characteristic of the productions of the prestigious Belgian crystal maker Val Saint Lambert (unmarked, originally labeled).

The box is in exceptional condition, no chips, no nicks on the edges or on the bevels. The exterior bottom is completely smooth and polished and may show signs of wear. The crystal is absolutely transparent with gorgeous prismatic reflections in light.

Initially designed as a table cigarette box, it is today ideal and very elegant when repurposed as a jewelry box, a chic catch-all on a console, or as a decorative object on a desk.
