Kiss
Profile:
KISS was formed in Queens, New York (USA) in 1973 and retired 50 years later in 2023 after their final show in New York City. They played rock, hard rock, heavy metal and 1980s hair / glam metal. Their brand lives on through avatars and merchandise.
Easily identified by its members' face paint and flamboyant stage outfits, the group rose to prominence in the mid to late 1970s on the basis of their elaborate live performances, which featured fire breathing, blood spitting, smoking guitars, shooting rockets, levitating drum kits and pyrotechnics. Kiss has been awarded 24 gold albums to date.
