Ernest García (XX) signs the acrylic painting Paris XL (no reserve) of 2026, 100 by 70 cm, in multicolour Realism, origin Spain, weight 0.6 kg, edition Originale, and a hand signature with a certificate of authenticity, depicting a stylish woman walking along a city canal in a mumured, atmospheric setting and a modern urban scene.
Description from the seller
PARIS is a 70x100 cm painting by the contemporary artist Ernest García. This painting features a woman elegantly dressed in black walking along the course of an urban canal, surrounded by softened facades, bare trees and a humid atmosphere that suggests a cold morning or a rainy afternoon. The large hat, the elongated silhouette of the dress and the small green bag render the protagonist a sophisticated figure, almost out of another era, while the city unfolds around her with a quiet and slightly melancholic beauty.
The composition combines portrait and urban landscape through a loose, delicate and atmospheric brushwork. The gray, violet, pink and yellow-green tones build a diffused light that recalls the sensibility of Impressionism and Post-Impressionism, especially in the depiction of streets, reflections and buildings gently dissolved by humidity. There are allusions to Camille Pissarro and Gustave Caillebotte in the gaze upon the modern city, as well as a certain narrative elegance close to Giovanni Boldini's worldly portraits.
The female figure, with her dark dress and wide-brimmed hat, also introduces references to Parisian fashion at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th. Her presence links the work to the Belle Époque tradition, to urban strolls and scenes of modern life that so interested the Impressionists. The contrast between the black silhouette and the bright environment makes the protagonist the emotional axis of the painting.
Paris is a work about elegance, about the stroll and the contemplation of the city. It blends contemporary figuration, urban landscape and historical inspiration in a refined and evocative scene, ideal for collectors attracted to Parisian painting, to Impressionism, to Belle Époque, to fashion scenes and to urban settings with a poetic atmosphere.
The work is hand-signed by the artist and is shipped with a certificate of authenticity.
