Balvenie 25 Years Rare Marriages, a single malt Scotch whisky from Balvenie in Speyside, bottled at 48% ABV in a 70 cl bottle with original packaging.
Description from the seller
The Balvenie 25 Years is a prestigious single malt Scotch whisky from the Speyside region, primarily known for its iconic expression within the Rare Marriages range. Originally launched in 2021 by Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE, this bottling stands out for its exceptionally silky, fruity, and complex profile, bottled at 48% ABV.
Over the years, the distillery has also released other historic expressions with the same age statement, such as the Triple Cask variant (mostly sold in Travel Retail at 40% ABV) and the classic Traditional Oak.
Flavor Profile and Production
The current expression (Rare Marriages) matures for a quarter of a century and results from a meticulous blending of individual casks: approximately 80% American oak (ex-bourbon) and 20% European oak (ex-Oloroso sherry). The final marriage process takes place in a large wooden tun.
• Nose: Elegant layers of runny honey, beeswax, vanilla, crystallized ginger, and fresh tropical fruit notes like apricot and pineapple.
• Palate: Rich and coating texture that envelopes the palate. It reveals prominent notes of citrus (orange and tangerine) combined with the characteristic sweetness of The Balvenie.
• Finish: Long, warming, and slightly dry, with lingering hints of baking spices (cinnamon), toasted oak, and a faint cocoa or coffee bitterness from the European oak.
