Mila Veljaca, In seinen Händen, oil on canvas (120 x 80 cm), original, signed contemporary figurative painting of a seated man focusing on his hands, dated 2025, from Austria and sold directly by the artist.
Description from the seller
**In seinen Händen**
Oil on canvas | 120 × 80 cm
A seated man, his face outside of the frame. The focus is on his hands. One holds a small object, the other is placed in front with an open gesture.
The figure is rendered in warm rust-red, brown, and terracotta tones. The background, in delicate pink and violet hues, creates a soft contrast to the dark, almost monumental body shape.
The reduced framing directs attention to the man’s posture and the movement of his hands. What he holds and what significance this object has for him remains open.
“In seinen Händen” is a contemporary figurative painting that centers a nondescript moment and leaves room for personal stories.
**Original painting, oil on canvas, 120 × 80 cm.**

About me:
"My painting moves at the boundary between figuration and abstraction - a tension-filled dialogue of expressive gesture, intense color worlds, and intuitive dynamics.
Inspired by the energy of Abstract Expressionism, which moves between body and dissolution, chaos and harmony."
Each work is a process of questioning and rediscovery:
Lines break through surfaces.
Figures appear and disappear.
An emotionally charged dance between control and letting go."
Mila Veljac'a is a visual artist from Croatia. She pursued further studies at art academies in Croatia, Vienna, Salzburg and Stuttgart and for several years shared her expertise as a lecturer in visual arts.
