Description from the seller
Rare vintage Pomellato cigarette lighter holder in 925 sterling silver, an interesting collectible object from the historic accessories production of the Milanese maison. The piece is signed Pomellato and bears inside the 925 silver hallmarks and the silversmith’s identifying mark ★ 164 MI, attributed to Egidio Nicoletti, Milan, a historic silverware workshop. This is a type of Pomellato accessory that is now out of production and hard to find, particularly interesting for collectors of the brand and of vintage Italian design. The lighter holder is made entirely of silver and features a sleek, sculptural form with a hinged lid. It retains patina, minor scratches, and original signs of use, consistent with the object's age and clearly visible in the photographs. It has not been aggressively polished, in order to preserve its original character. Weight: about 38 g. Private provenance. The item comes from the family of a historic Pomellato authorized retailer. A small and unusual example of Pomellato production outside of jewelry, interesting both as a collectible object and as a testament to 20th-century Italian design and silverware.
