Description from the seller
David Law
Photographer Artist – Creator of contemporary images
Multidisciplinary photographic artist, author and musician, David Law develops work focused on gaze, presence and perception of the image in urban space. He first became known for a series devoted to shop-window models, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superimpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Then drawn by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he extends this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, questioning our relation to illusion and projection.
New Series – Private Worlds
In a repetitive facade where each window becomes a world, the light reveals fragments of silent lives. Behind each colored square, simple gestures — almost invisible — tell of intimacy, waiting and isolation. No gaze crosses, no story intersects. A collection of contemporary solitudes, locked inside their own illuminated frames. This series was conceived from contemporary visual creation workflows, using graphic tools and current digital composition techniques.
Edition & Fabrication
Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 copies numbered + 4 artist proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are made on aluminum with integrated backing. Printing on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with soft UV- and humidity-resistant lamination, ensuring excellent durability, long-term color stability and a modern, contemporary rendering
Parcours
Since 2014, David Law has participated in about twenty contemporary art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the official photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Parallel to his visual activity, he develops writer/author and musician work including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a comic book, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. Singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the group FRENZY.
