Montblanc Meisterstück LeGrand 161 Gold Line ballpoint pen, made in Germany in the Fine XX century, with a black precious resin body and yellow gold-plated finishes, 12 cm long and 1.2 cm in diameter, in good condition with light wear and age-related markings, in working order and featuring a twist mechanism and Montblanc standard ballpoint refills; initials “C.A.” are engraved on the resin cap side.
Description from the seller
In this section we present the most imposing and authoritative expression of the classic line par excellence from the Hamburg maison: the Montblanc Meisterstück LeGrand Ballpoint Pen (Model 161) Gold Line.
Unlike the more widespread Classique (164), the LeGrand (161) variant asserts itself with a visibly larger diameter and heft, guaranteeing a high-level stage presence and a formidable grip, particularly appreciated by those who prefer desk pens with significant weight and size. The cigar-shaped body is forged in traditional deep black precious resin, polished to mirror, to create a sophisticated and warm contrast with the bright finishes plated in yellow gold. We find the unmistakable drop clip, the three concentric institutional rings (with the inscription "MONTBLANC - MEISTERSTÜCK" on the central band) and the famous white star inlaid at the summit.
From a technical standpoint, this is a solid Ballpoint Pen. The tip release is governed by the reliable and smooth continuous-rotation mechanism (twist). As documented by the photographs showing the instrument disassembled, the pen uses the classic smooth Montblanc standard ballpoint refills.
Regarding the condition, the item presents in generally good condition, but an evident personalization is noted. As clearly documented in the detail shot, on the resin-cap side the initials in italic script "C.A." were engraved.
Net of this personalization, the precious resin maintains excellent overall brilliance and shows no cracks or structural chipping, displaying only the physiological micro-scratches (hairlines) resulting from normal use. The yellow gold plating is well preserved, shiny and free of oxidation.
