DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK
We offer at auction a representative, high-quality work by Paolo Baratella. Our gallery has long-standing dealings with the Master’s work, which has been showcased in various collective, thematic, and survey exhibitions.
Dating from 2013, the piece fits perfectly into the coherent visual itinerary of an artist of fundamental importance in the Pop and Social/Protest Art contexts since the 1960s. Paolo Baratella was an “oppose-the-system” artist, a true activist who pursued his career and expressive research in this precise direction, always combining political commitment with rigorous composition.
BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES AND CRITICISM ABOUT THE ARTIST
Paolo Baratella (Bologna, 1935 - Lucca, 2025) was a prominent figure in Italian contemporary art and social inquiry. The Master boasts an outstanding institutional exhibition record, including four participations in the Venice Biennale (including 1972, 1989 and 2011), appearances at the Milan Biennale (1974 and 1994) and the Quadriennale of Rome (1986 and 1999).
His works, characterized by a powerful figurative style and a constant critical reinterpretation of images, are today housed in major European museums and private collections of great prestige, confirming the historical value and lasting relevance of his visual message.
SHIPPING AND PACKING
Packaging: We guarantee professional, rigid, and tailor-made reinforced packaging designed to preserve the total integrity of the work during transit, protected from shocks, creases, and humidity.
Courier: Tracked, fast, and secure shipping via express courier.
Notes on Shipping: Shipping costs, which may seem slightly higher than average, reflect the special care we devote to packaging and to choosing reliable couriers. The delivery times indicated on the platform are approximate. We generally ship within the indicated terms, sometimes even earlier. However, during peak periods or if there are issues (e.g., strikes), shipments may slip by a few days. In such cases, we usually keep the buyer constantly informed about the order status and have the package ready to be shipped on the first available business day. If the shipment falls on a Friday, we postpone shipping to Monday to avoid risky storage at warehouses over the weekend.
Customs and Export (Extra-EU): For buyers resident outside the European Union, shipping may require the technical time needed to obtain the Free Movement Certificate (Export License) from MiC (Ministry of Culture). Any customs duties are the buyer’s responsibility.
Invoicing: Professional seller. The work will be accompanied by a tax receipt (or electronic invoice, obtainable by sending your details at the time of auctioning the lot).
Frames and glass: The frame, if present, is part of the sale but should be considered a complimentary addition, so no claims regarding its condition will be accepted. The conditions are always exhaustively indicated in the description. If there is glass, it will be included in the sale only if the lot is picked up in person at our gallery. If shipping, the glass is always removed and should never be considered included in the sale.
