Article: MONTBLANC fountain pen in brown tiger-eye swirled celluloid with gold trim
Reference / Edition: Montblanc 242 G
Length: 13 cm closed (approx)
Diameter: 1.2 cm (approx)
Period: 1950s (German manufacture, c. 1950-1954)
Materials: Body and cap in brown swirled tiger-eye type celluloid, paddle-shaped clip and double cap-band in gold metal, matching celluloid section, nib in 14-karat gold (585) with engraving of the Montblanc logo, piston filler with knurled button under the rear cap.
Condition: Good condition for its age. The celluloid retains shine and the marbling is very vivid, with no cracks or visible deformations; micro-scratches from use are scattered across the body and cap. In the gold-plated parts there is wear to the finish, more noticeable on the clip edges and the cap bands. The nib appears intact and well aligned, with the tines joined. The filling mechanism has not been tested.
Accessories: Only the loose piece; no box, case or papers visible in the photos.
