Abel Barroso’s hand-signed contemporary mixed-media work Mi Alcancia is a framed limited edition, numbered 3/5.
Description from the seller
A special work by the Cuban artist Abel Barroso titled “Mi Alcancía”.
Size with frame: 109 x 65 cm.
Extraordinary three-dimensional design.
Individual image elements, especially hands and coins, lie visibly raised above the background and create a plastic relief effect.
Thus it is not a typical flat print, but a work with a three-dimensional character.
The design combines graphic elements with a pronounced spatial effect.
This particularly three-dimensional execution makes the work especially interesting for collectors of contemporary Cuban art.
Work details:
Artist: Abel Barroso
Title: Mi Alcancía
Edition: 3/5
Signature: hand-signed, bottom right
Technique: relief-like, three-dimensional design; the exact material and printing technique has not yet been definitively determined.
Framing: present; the frame was specially made for the work.
Origin: According to the seller, acquired in 1996 at the opening exhibition “Cuba Sí” at the Burggalerie Stolberg.
The work is offered including the accompanying frame. Unfortunately, at the very bottom there is a small spot, as seen in the pictures.
The raised image elements give it a special depth and distinguish it from conventional two-dimensional graphics.
