This original color lithograph is titled Lithograph VI from the iconic Farandole portfolio (1971), created by the master of European Art Informel and Tachisme, Hans Hartung (1904–1989).
This captivating composition embodies Hartung’s post-war lyrical abstraction, demonstrating a masterful tension between spontaneous energy and rhythmic control.
The artwork features a deep, velvety expanse of textured black ink contrasted sharply by a vibrant, luminous glow of lemon yellow in the upper right corner.
Dynamic, calligraphic strokes are etched across the center, creating an undulating, musical cadence reminiscent of the traditional Provençal dance from which the portfolio takes its name Farandole.
The expressive vertical markings on the left ground the composition, creating a powerful play of light, shadow, and rapid movement.
Perfect for collectors of mid-century abstract prints or as a striking minimalist focal point for modern interiors.
