DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK
We offer at auction a beautiful canvas, of medium-large size and superior quality, created by Paul Kostabi. The work comes directly from the artist's studio.
Our gallery is proud to be one of Paul Kostabi's reference points in Italy: we handle a wide selection of his creations, ranging from monumental formats (over 2 meters) to medium and small, including, in addition to canvas works, works on paper and historical pieces from the 1990s and 2000s. The absolute guarantee of this painting is certified by the certificate of authenticity on photograph issued and signed directly by the master.
BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES AND CRITICS ABOUT THE ARTIST
The artist is unanimously considered the last great representative of New York Graffiti from the 1980s: in his career he has exhibited in the same galleries as absolute masters such as Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring, also collaborating on a two-person project with Little Angel Ortiz (LA2), Haring's longtime assistant. His works are today housed in prestigious institutional collections, including the Guggenheim Museum in New York, and in numerous other museums around the world.
In addition to painting, Paul Kostabi boasts a monumental history in the music scene: he founded the band White Zombie, played with Marky Ramone, and is the brilliant creator of the title "Use Your Illusion" for the famous Guns N' Roses album (the cover of which was illustrated by his brother, Mark Kostabi).
SHIPPING AND PACKING
Packaging: We guarantee professional, rigid, custom reinforced packaging designed to preserve the work's total integrity during transit, protected from shocks, creases, and humidity.
Courier: Tracked, fast, and secure shipment via express courier.
Shipping Notes: Shipping costs, which may seem slightly higher than average, reflect the particular care we take in creating the packaging and selecting reliable couriers. The times indicated on the platform are estimates. We generally ship within the indicated terms, sometimes even earlier. However, it is possible that, during periods of high traffic or if issues (for example, strikes) arise, shipments may slip by a few days. In such cases, we usually keep the buyer continually informed about the order status and have the package ready to be shipped on the first business day. If it falls on a Friday, we postpone the shipment to Monday to avoid risky stockroom holds over the weekend.
Customs and Export (Extra-EU): For buyers residing outside the European Union, shipping may require the technical time necessary to obtain the Export License from the MiC (Ministry of Culture).
Any customs duties are charged to the buyer.
Invoicing: Professional seller. The work will be accompanied by a fiscal receipt (or electronic invoice, available on request by sending your details at the time of auction of the lot).
Frames and glass: The frame, if present, is part of the sale but should be considered a gift, so no claims regarding its condition will be accepted. The conditions are always exhaustively indicated in the description. If glass is present, it will only be included in the sale if the lot is picked up in person from our gallery. If shipping, the glass is always removed and thus never considered included in the sale."}
