Description from the seller

Beautiful Antique German Porcelain Hunting Pipe (Gesteckpfeife) with Hand-Painted Hunting Scene - 27 cm - c. 1900

A stunning and highly atmospheric piece of European tobacco history.
This authentic German hunting pipe (Gesteckpfeife) dates from the late 19th or early 20th.
With a total length of 27 cm, it is a very elegant and highly displayable collector's item.
Please note: The wooden stem connection is currently loose and held together with a vintage cord. It requires minor stabilization or re-fitting if intended for use.

The highlight of this pipe is the porcelain bowl (Stummel), featuring a finely detailed, hand-painted scene of a deer in a natural forest landscape.
The bowl is fitted with its original, openwork brass or copper wind cap with a hinge mechanism, historically designed to prevent sparks from flying during an active hunt.

The pipe is constructed entirely from traditional, historically correct materials, including the characteristic white porcelain moisture trap (the L-shaped elbow piece at the bottom), a beautifully aged wooden stem, and its retaining cord.

In good antique condition with a beautiful, authentic patina that adds to its historic charm.
The porcelain remains intact, and the painting still retains its warm, deep colors.

An absolute must-have for the serious pipe collector or as a unique decorative piece in a classic interior!
